The SMS for SOS Local Members was introduced with effect from 1 May 2005. The scheme provides Qualified SOS Local Members with free health screening at the Seacare Maritime Medical Centre located at 165 Tanjong Pagar Road #04-19 The Amara Singapore 088539.

With effect from 20 January 2006, the SMS has been further enhanced to make it more beneficial, attractive and valuable to SOS local members by providing free comprehensive optometric eye examination at the New Optometry & Ocular Care Centre (NOOCC) at 300 Margaret Drive Singapore 149302.

For the current term of office, 1 April 2008 to 16 November 2011, Qualified SOS Local member and one adult dependent are entitled to two free health screening and two comprehensive optometric eye examinations per person per term of office of four years. For 1 April 2008 to 31 December 2009, Unity Pharmacy voucher will be given for every health screening benefit. For the eye examination, members and dependent are entitled to substantial discount for purchase and make of frames and lenses at the NOOCC.
